Londraville Phyllis
Londraville Phyllis F. was born in Detroit, Michigan,1920 and died in 2002. Fine Arts Major. Educated: Scholarship, Chouinard Art Inst. Pupil of McFee, Hansen, Moore, Jepson and Lebrun. Studied: Japanese Sum- E painting with Shoun Igarashi. Chinese (brush) painting with Prof. Ng Kung Fung. Exhibited: L.A. County Museum of Art. Freelance designer in New York for Schumacher, Greeff, Scalamandre and others. Head designer and art director for Barth& Dreyfus, L.A., CA 1957- 1973.
Represented by Zantman Art Galleries Ltd., Carmel, CA since 1967. Specializes in fantasy. Also at Zantman’s Palm Desert Gallery.
Elected fellow of “The American Istitute of Fine Arts” for superiority in painting, the F.A.I.F.A. Gold Medal, cash awards, the Duncan Gleason Award, Best of shows, 1st award and winner of the Lillian Prest Ferguson Award four times- some of her many awards. Many more awards incude Gold Medal, California Art Club-Genre. Member, “The Artists of the Southwest”. Represented in many art collections locally and worldwide. Among them, The Rothchild Art Collection in France.
